Breast procedures may be limited in their ability to create pre-pregnancy breasts.
Abdominoplasty does not address mesenteric or inner-abdominal fat that can make an abdomen look distended.
Three to four hours
Mommy makeover patients should refrain from any aerobic activity and lifting over 10 lbs for three to four weeks. Most patients return to more sedentary jobs within two to three weeks.
Pregnancy is the number one reason patients undergo combination abdominal and breast procedures. As pregnancy can change the size and shape of breasts after delivery and nursing, many women who have finished having children will seek breast procedures to regain breast volume, reshape their breasts, or even give them the breasts of their dreams. At your consultation with Dr. Marchant, you will discuss your breast goals and receive recommendations to best achieve them, including whether or not breast implants are needed.
Pregnancy can also greatly affect the abdominal skin and muscle integrity. With abdominoplasty, some patients are able to acquire an abdomen they have not seen since before their pregnancies. There are some patients, in fact, who have extremely weak core strength due to diastasis of the rectus muscle. During a tummy tuck, the diastasis is repaired and the patient is able to enjoy a sleeker trunk.
Mommy Makeover is not a procedure to be performed until a woman knows she is done having children as a subsequent pregnancy can negate all the benefits achieved through surgery.
