Breast augmentation is performed after administering anesthetic to the patient. An incision will be made underneath the breast, near the armpit, or in the nipple area. The patient and Dr. Marchant decide together which would be the best location for the incision. Implants will then be placed underneath the breast muscle. The incision sites will be closed and the patient’s chest will be placed in a compression bra.
Breast augmentation patients experience some soreness, bruising, and swelling for several weeks after surgery. Despite these side effects, most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work within one week following breast augmentation.
